Additional Information
on Services for Facilities All services right
within the nursing home
HealthDrive professionals use state of the art portable technologies that allow them to
provide all routine and preventative services right on-site. Residents are spared
the cost, inconvenience and discomfort of traveling off-site for care.
Stringent infection control
HealthDrive professionals follow stringent infection control protocols including wearing
gloves and changing them between patients, sterilizing instruments between patients, and
autoclave heat-sterilizing of all instruments exposed to blood and bodily fluids. The
doctors have portable sterilizers on site with them. In addition, the doctors are provided
with disposable jackets, sharps containers for proper needle disposal, and disinfection
solutions. Podiatrists are also equipped with a Sani-Vac III, a specialized vacuum cleaner
for minimizing nail and nail dust dispersal.
Medicare/Medicaid billing where
applicable
HealthDrive's billing departments are diligent in staying informed of current Medicare and
Medicaid guidelines, including regulations, documentation requirements, and allowable
services.
Legible and complete documentation
HealthDrive custom-developed standardized examination forms and progress notes across all
of it health specialties to ensure that nurses are always comfortable to review and
extract information needed for the best care of their residents. All documentation was
created with the facilities convenience in mind. In addition to including sections related
to the MDS, the exam records are hole punched as well as carbon copies. Each professional
has a random selection of their records reviewed monthly to ensure their
appropriateness,completeness and legibility.
In addition, HealthDrive has developed proprietary forms to streamline the authorization
of services processes for both responsible parties and attending physicians.
Quality assurance program
Each of the specialty areas offered by HealthDrive is headed by a professional who has
been with the organization for many years. Our Quality assurance program begins with our
credentialing process which is detailed and through. It includes verification of
schooling, licensing, malpractice history, and criminal record background checks. It also
includes identifying at least three positive personal references for each candidate
provider. As part of the Quality Assurance program these program Directors, Alec Jaret, DMD, Jeffrey Morer, OD, Laura
Tasse, AuD, and Mary Manesis-Gilbert, DPM, review random
selections of each of their provider's records each month and meet with them for regular
peer review meetings. These meetings involve each professional being asked to review three
records of another anonymous provider in front of the entire local group. Any issues or
concerns identified during these reviews and meetings are directed to the Regulatory
Affairs department which will review the concerns and, if necessary, meet with the
provider individually to resolve the issue or concern. Providers are also closely
monitored for their professionalism, responsiveness, competency, and integrity.
HealthDrive believes that a key aspect of its QA program is the involvement of the
facility itself. Therefore, on a quarterly basis, HealthDrive provides the administration
of each facility with a report summarizing all
services provided to its residents during the past quarter. This information includes,
sorted by patient, the service they received, the date of the service, the diagnosis made,
if any, the treatment provided, if any, the reason they need to bee seen again, if any,
and the expected date for that visit, if any.
Compliance program
Under the direction of Rosa
Chiacchierarelli,
HealthDrive's Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs department
is comprised of three additional individuals who devote themselves full-time to the
assurance that HealthDrive fully complies with all relevant state and federal government,
Medicare and Medicaid, and JCAHO regulations and requirements. The Compliance Department
is responsible for
overseeing internal record and billing audits, summarizing findings and educating affected
parties, implementing any needed corrective action, responding to and resolving any issues
raised related to compliance, and in assisting in the credentialing process.
Continuing education program
It is imperative that providers continue their education to meet their licensure
requirements and to ensure that they remain current with their specialty's advancements,
and competent to meet the growing needs of their patients. In addition to participation in
peer review meetings, HealthDrive's providers are compensated to acquire additional
continuing education on their own by attending seminars and lectures.
JCAHO Compliance program
HealthDrive has extensive experience with aiding facilities in meeting their JCAHO
requirements relative to the specialty services we offer with provider health
verifications, credentialing, and infection control protocols.
